Personal History

Though there are some people who disagree with me, I think the every life is an adventure and everyone has a story to tell. Though there may be some who have a personal history that is more impressive than others, I believe there something to learn from everyone?s life. When it comes down to it, each of us have unique experiences, even if we have many shared experiences. You may go through something with another person, but your perspective on that event will be completely different than the other. This is what makes each story special, and what makes each of us unique.

Your personal history is yours alone. No one will ever have the same story as you. Many centuries ago a person?s personal history was much more important than it seems to be today. Families passed down stories from generation to generation of each of their members. These stories became the personal history of the family as well as of the individual person. Each life story was a badge of honor, and sometimes, a badge of defeat. We all have someone in our family we are not proud of, but their personal history makes our families what they are.

You may think your life is boring, but you should know that those who come after you may want to know your personal history. Your children and your grandchildren will one day want to know about parts of your life that they did not know. Many children are shocked to find out that their parents had a life before they were born, and in many cases, were completely different people than they thought. If you have kept a journal or diary, this is the best personal history you can leave for your children. You may not want them to read it until after you have passed on, but this will give them some idea of who you were in will also give them a way to stay close to you after you have gone.

You can also turn your personal history into a book. Okay, so you may not get a major publisher to publish it for you, but you may be able to get a few copies made just for yourself and your family. This might be something really neat to have if you can find someone to put it together for you. If you?re not a writer, it may not be worth the time and money to pay someone to write it for you, but I would think that everyone?s personal history would be worth writing down. You may have more wisdom within yourself that you ever realized.
